Vocabulary Words: Line Pattern, Variety, Balance, Repetition

Materials: 12x18" colored paper, sharpie, markers, yarn, wiggle eyes (optional), white paper, black paper

Using a 12x18" sheet of white paper, fold the ends down appx. 1". Draw 10 lines, varying the distance between the lines. I have the students fill these areas with different line patterns, trying to create a different line pattern by varying shapes and changing lines. Color with markers. On the ends with the folds, punch 10 holes on each end and loop yarn through these holes. Draw a "bug", add designs with sharpie, add legs, and attach to rug.
